Fremont (Formerly Fremont Center)

The Fremont Times began publishing circa Mar. 1874 by Walter S. Platt & Matthews. It was Republican. It was continued by The Fremont Indicator.

The Fremont Indicator began publishing on Feb. 27, 1878 by Laura Platt, with Walter Platt as editor. It ceased circa 1902 and likely merged with Fremont News to form News-Indicator.

Fremont News Letter began publishing circa Jan. 1884 by D.D. Alton.

The Fremont Times began publishing on Sept. 7, 1911 by Times Pub. Co. It ceased on Nov. 30, 1911 when it merged with News-Indicator to form Fremont Times-Indicator.

Fremont Times-Indicator began publishing on Dec. 7, 1911 by Times Pub. Co. It ceased on Dec. 31, 1941 when it merged with Newaygo County News, to form Fremont Times-Indicator and the Newaygo County News.

Fremont Times-Indicator and the Newaygo County News began publishing on Jan. 8, 1942 by Don VanderWerp. It ceased and was continued by Fremont Times-Indicator.

Fremont Times-Indicator was publishing by July 1976 by Robert E. Hostetler.

Grant

The Good Templar News began publishing circa 1896. It was the official organ of the Grand Lodge of Michigan.

The Grant Herald and Independent was publishing by Mar. 1937 by Ray O. Clemens.

The Grant Galaxy was publishing by 1973 by Pioneer Pub. of Big Rapids. It ceased on Oct. 25, 1973 and merged with White Cloud Eagle and Newaygo Republican to form Newaygo County Sun.

Newaygo County Sun began publishing on Nov. 1, 1973 by Pioneer Pub. of Big Rapids. It ceased on Aug. 6, 1980 and was absorbed by Fremont Times-Indicator.

Hesperia

The Hesperian began publishing circa 1875 by D.L. Weaver. It moved to White Cloud in 1880.

Hesperia Investigator began publishing circa 1876 by William Fuller. After a short while the paper moved to Alleyton but continued being published and sent to Hesperia. It ceased circa fall 1882 when the office burned.

The Gleaner began publishing circa 1876 by J.A. Van Fleet. It was a religious temperance newspaper. After a short while it moved to Grand Rapids and change names to The Lever.

The Leader began publishing circa 1876 by Mr. Marvin. It lasted a few weeks and was absorbed by The Hesperian.

The News began publishing Sept. 29, 1882 by Clark N. Young.

The Hesperia Union began publishing circa 1897. By 1933 it was published by Royal Pub.

Newaygo

Newaygo Republican began publishing circa late 1856 by James H. Maze. It ceased circa 1973 and merged with Grant Galaxy, and White Cloud Eagle, to form Newaygo County Sun.

The Newaygo Tribune began publishing on Mar. 20, 1875 by Judson Palmiter. It was initially independent and then supported the Greenback cause. It ceased circa 1888.

White Cloud

White Cloud Business began publishing circa 1886 by C.E. Charboneau.

The White Cloud Eagle began publishing circa 1898. By 1907 it was edited by W. B. Reld. It ceased on Oct. 25, 1973 and merged with Grant Galaxy and Newaygo Republican to form Newaygo County Sun.
