Benzonia

The Benzie County Journal began publishing on January 9, 1872 by R.H. Brainard. The Journal ceased in March, 1888.

The Benzonia Citizen began publishing on July 15, 1870 by J.B. Walker. It was an anti-Masonic paper which, and lasted about one year.

Benzie Banner began publishing on July 19, 1888 by Ellsworth D. Foster. It was Republican. It eventually merged with the Benzie Record.

The Leelanau Sun began publishing on June 15, 1983 by Press Box Inc. It published during the summer months.

Beulah

The Benzie Record began publishing circa 1910 by J.W. Saunders. In Aug. 1975 it merged with the Benzie Banner to form Benzie County Record-Banner.

Benzie County Record-Banner began publishing on Aug. 7, 1975 by Record Publishing Co.

Elberta

The Elberta Alert began publishing circa 1911 by Marvin O. Dawson.

Frankfort

Frankfort Weekly Express began publishing on June 6, 1870 by W.F. Cornell. Some of its editors include Allen Brewer and A.B. Stigner. It was Republican.

The Benzie County Patriot began publishing on January 1, 1896 by Ferdinand Voiland. By 1922 its publisher was A.P. Peterson.

The Frankfort Times began publishing circa late 1884 by R.W. Kern.

South Frankfort News began publishing on May 1, 1884 by James M. Gillmore.

Fruit and Farm News began publishing circa 1897. It was an agricultural newspaper.

Thomspsonville

The News began publishing circa 1893. By 1900 it was published by Rebekah Publishing Co. In 1901 it became Thompsonville News published by A.F. Gilson.

Other newspapers that began in the 1890s include The Wave from Lake Ana, and The Herald from Thompsonville.
